After a lackluster start saw Memphis fall behind 7-0, the Tigers dominated the Bulls from the middle of the first quarter on. Memphis outgained USF 560 total yards to just 170 for the school from Tampa. Memphis picked up 31 first downs compared to just 5 for Charlie Strong’s squad.
The Memphis defense gave up 17 first quarter points to the Cougars, but allowed just 10 points the rest of the way. Brady White lead the Tigers offensive attack by throwing 5 touchdown passes to four different receivers and using his legs for an additional score. Memphis proved to be too much for the decimated Houston roster, winning on the road 45-27.

In what we’re referring to as a “double bounce back game” here at The BarnBurner, Memphis responded to last week’s disappointing loss at Temple to pummel the Tulane Green Wave 47-17 at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium on Saturday evening. Gainwell had a historic day, compiling stats the FBS hasn’t seen since 1997.
