It may not be what it once was, but this year’s Big East tournament should offer plenty of excitement. The conference truly embodies the parity that was the 2019-20 College Basketball season. Eight of the ten teams finished with an overall record above .500, while Georgetown and DePaul currently sit at 15-16. Add in the MSG atmosphere and we should be in for another classic tournament. So without further ado, let’s break down the upcoming week at the Mecca.
The Big 10/ACC challenge rolls on as we recap MSU’s PUTRID effort at home against Duke and highlight Louisville’s defense against Michigan. We also talk Big East and how deep and open the conference really is and we had to spend time on the trouble at Georgetown. Is this the year that Archie Miller takes his Hoosiers to the tournament? Also, we let The Shark have the spotlight on stage so that he can drag Cuonzo Martin and Mizzou’s loss to Charleston Southern. Finally, we introduce our new segment titled “Where am I?” inspired by Hansel in Zoolander and we can’t forget Hugs.
Theatergoers take heed… this is a MEATY episode. The memories and nostalgia came flooding through our veins with this one. If you grew up watching college basketball then you know Big East basketball is the peak, the apex, the crem de la theat. We could’ve done a Starting 5 of names from Pitt and UConn but we expanded to the entire conference. We provide our predictions for COY, POY and regular season champion. We also got the Crier back in the fold with special guest, Justin, who is a monster Rhode Island fan. We sat down to talk to them about one of the more underrated rivalries in the country, Providence/URI. Lastly we hit you with some hugs.
