Ja Morant wins Rookie of the Year and elicits sizeable response on social media

The inevitable was finally announced on Thursday, when the NBA released the vote totals for a particular prestigious award. Ja Morant, the Memphis Grizzlies point guard, and number two draft pick from a summer ago, was officially selected as the NBA Rookie of the Year. Morant is the first Memphis Grizzly to win ROY since Pau Gasol in 2002. Morant’s selection was nearly unanimous and out of 100 voters, he received first place votes from 99 of them.

Kendrick Nunn of Miami came in second in the overall voting with 56 second place votes and number one draft pick Zion Williamson came in third overall.

Of course, Ja was not happy about the solo goofball who gave a first placed vote to Zion Williamson of Miami.

Fortunately, all of Grizzlies Twitter will know who this scoundrel is soon.
