Per a team release Tuesday afternoon, the Grizzlies announced that forward Justise Winslow injured his hip during a scrimmage and has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2020 season.
Shortly after the release, Winslow himself followed up with a tweet sharing that he will still be supporting his teammates and is now focusing on being healthy for next season.
Winslow was acquired from the Miami Heat in a deal for Andre Iguodala, has been battling injuries, and is yet to play a game for the Grizzlies.
As my guy, @barnburnerslim and others pointed out, this may mean an upgrade in minutes for Josh Jackson, who was beginning to make a solid impact right before the shutdown.
Hopefully, this injury is the final one in an unfortunate string and Winslow can hit the court healthy next season.
