One of the rising stars in local Memphis hoops was officially extended a scholarship offer from Penny Hardaway during Peach Jam.
Briarcrest Christian high school point guard Kennedy Chandler has been racking up the offers recently. However, there was one offer that was previously not on the table — that of the hometown school, the University of Memphis.
The class of 2021 guard is ranked 28th in the nation by 247Sports, and is listed as the top player in the state.
Chandler plays AAU ball on the EYBL circuit with MOKAN Elite. He plays up on the 17U group. Prior to Peach Jam, Chandler was averaging 14 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game in 13 contests. During that stretch he shot 36% from three.
In addition to efficient shooting and exceptional passing abilities, he also has the athletic ability to set himself apart.
