Yesterday was a monumental day in the life of Memphis Tiger hoop fans. In case you were on a some sort of hiatus and unable to access any media, James Wiseman, the number one (ESPN) player in the class of 2019, verbally committed to The University of Memphis and coach Penny Hardaway. Check out more on that HERE.
This commitment made waves across all levels of the college basketball community.
From your local Memphis ESPN radio station:
The station set a new all-time streaming record with the James Wiseman announcement today. Memphis basketball is really back.

Best of all, here is what the competition had to say about it:
John Calipari: “I think I’m overrated as a recruiter.” Says his biggest thing is he wants to “be able to sleep at night, make sure I’m telling the truth.” Says the way UK approaches this means “we don’t get every kid; we get the ones we’re supposed to get.”

Regardless, one thing remains indisputable. It’s Penny time in hoop city and things haven’t been this exciting in a long, long time. Dana says it best. Welcome back, Memphis. This time, we are here to stay.
Welcome back, Memphis basketball. James Wiseman picks Tigers. Penny Hardaway just sent a city into a frenzy. Again
