In this week’s volume of the Digest, we take a look at POTW awards, revitalized teams, the Tankathon, and other topics around The League.
Players of the Week
East: Joel Embiid, Philadephia 76ers – 26p/15r/1a/2b
The big man from Philly had a great week last week to help the city continue their winning streak across the professional sports spectrum. Embiid averaged a double double during this time frame as the 76ers earned victories over the Wizards, Pelicans, and Clippers. Right now Philly is clinging to the 8th playoff slot in the East after standing put at the trade deadline.
West: James Harden, Houston Rockets – 34p/9r/9a
For the second week in a row, Harden was the best player in the West. He continues to be the focal point for Houston’s number one ranked offense in the NBA. Right now they are in the midst of an 8 game winning streak and sit just half a game back of the defending champs from The Bay. The Rockets hope to continue this momentum as we near the NBA All-Star game.
The race to the bottom is heating up! There are currently 4 teams tied for last in the “Tank for Trae”/”Don’t win for Doncic” sweepstakes. Thank goodness for tankathon.com.
Rapid Fire Randomness
After a big shakeup at the trade deadline, LeBron and Jordan are already bros. It appears that the new-look Cavs are having fun again, which can only mean they are primed to take back the Eastern Conference throne.
