This week we will cover down on the POTW awards, a historic NBA performance, and also check in on our NBA bottom feeders.
Players of the Week
East: Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards. 22p/6.7r/7.7a
During last week’s stretch of games, Beal helped lead the Wizards to victory over OKC, Toronto, and Orlando. While not recording any super notable individual game stats during this time, his consistency has been the key to his leadership of the team during the absence of fellow All-Star John Wall due to knee surgery. Right now the Wizards sit at fourth place in the east, just a hair behind the ever struggling Cavs. With the trade deadline a few days away, we will find out if the Wizards will be one of the teams to make a last second change in personnel that pushes them into the playoffs.

West: James Harden, Houston Rockets. 34p/6r/10a
The best player in the West last week happens to be none other than the guy who has been the best player in the league all season long. James Harden has to be the leader for MVP at this stage in the season. He leads the league in three point shots made, points per game, free throws, as well as several other categories. Last week the Rockets defeated the Magic, Spurs, and Cavs. During the win over Orlando, Harden notched the first ever 60 point triple double in NBA history. After last week, Houston is still in second place in the West, but creeping every closer to the Golden State Warriors. They remain one of the hottest teams in basketball as they have won 8 out of their past 10.

Tankathon Update
If you are like me and your team is in the basement of the NBA, you are holding out hope that the ping pong balls will fall in your favor come the off-season and you will snag a blue chip draft pick this season who will re-write the trajectory of your franchise. Fortunately, our friends at tankathon.com make this desire super easy to fulfill. On their site you can see how all the lottery odds currently sit and let you know who to root for in order for your team to get closer to the bottom. Be careful with the lottery sim option though, that’s a deep, dark hole of hope you might not be able to climb out of.
